Does KT Equity Protector EA place trades?+
No. KT Equity Protector EA does not open trades, manage entries, or decide when to buy or sell. It works as an account-level risk manager for your manual trades and other EAs. Its job is to monitor your equity rules and close trades only when one of your protection conditions is triggered.
Can it help with prop firm risk rules?+
Yes. The Prop Firm profile is designed for traders who need to stay inside daily loss, maximum loss, and trailing drawdown limits. You can set a safety buffer below the firm's actual breach level, such as triggering protection before a 5% daily loss is reached. It also supports broker-time daily resets, sticky peak tracking, and trailing-balance or trailing-equity drawdown anchors, depending on how your challenge rules are structured. Always match the settings with your specific prop firm's rules before going live.
Will it interfere with my other EAs?+
No, not during normal operation. It monitors account equity and protection rules. It does not change the entry logic, exit logic, or settings of your other EAs. You can also use scope filters such as symbol, magic number, or comment if you want it to manage only specific trades. The option to close all trades and remove other EAs from the terminal is optional, and it only runs when the rule you selected is triggered.
What happens if MetaTrader crashes or restarts?+
The EA saves its important protection data regularly, including equity anchors, peak values, trailing status, pause status, and reset state. If MetaTrader crashes, restarts, or your VPS disconnects, the EA can continue from the last saved state when the platform is running again. Your saved wizard settings are also preserved, so you do not have to configure everything again.
Do I need a VPS to use it?+
Not necessarily. It can run anywhere MetaTrader runs, including your PC, a VPS, or a Mac setup using Wine. However, for continuous protection, a VPS is strongly recommended. If your computer is turned off, MetaTrader is closed, or your internet connection drops, the EA cannot monitor or act until the platform is running again.
Can I use it on different MetaTrader accounts?+
Yes. Each account keeps its own separate configuration, saved state, and audit log based on the account login. This means your settings from one account will not mix with another account. If you switch accounts or use separate MetaTrader terminals, the EA can maintain account-specific protection data.
What if my broker uses different order filling modes?+
The EA automatically checks the correct filling mode for each symbol and uses the method supported by your broker. If a close attempt fails, it can retry the close process and record the broker response in the log, making it easier to understand what happened if an order could not be closed immediately.
Can I test it in the MetaTrader Strategy Tester?+
Yes, it can load in the Strategy Tester. However, because it does not open trades or generate entries, there is no meaningful trading performance to backtest. For a realistic check, use it on a demo account first. This lets you test the setup, protection rules, alerts, and closing behavior in a live market environment without risking real funds.
Is there a refund policy?+
All purchases are processed through the MQL5 Marketplace, so refunds are handled according to MQL5's own policy. We cannot issue refunds directly from our side. That said, if you face any setup, activation, or usage issue, contact us and we will help you get the product working properly.
How do I get future updates?+
All future updates are delivered through the MQL5 Marketplace, just like the original installation. Your purchase includes lifetime free updates, so when a new version is released, you can update it directly from your MQL5 account without buying it again.
